As a lifelong learner, I believe an effective educator is one who disseminates truth with compassion. I have always enjoyed the learning process and formulating the flow of logic and understanding. As an educator, I feel both honored and humbled to take part in the educational experience of others, and feel a deep responsibility to render accurate information, with enthusiasm and encouragement! My desire is that they, too, will become lifelong learners that enjoy responding to the world around them with curiosity and wonder.
Teaching at Temple College has allowed me to fulfill a deep passion: to provide and disseminate health awareness to others. It is often difficult to discern the truth regarding what is needed to maintain health and wellness. In the courses I teach at Temple College, I am blessed with the opportunity to discuss the normal physiology of the human body, as well as strategies through nutrition and exercise that can reduce the chances of developing many chronic health-related conditions such as cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease. Many of my students are working towards a career as a health care professional and find the practical application of health and nutrition both interesting and rewarding!
