Temple College received a five-year, $3.6 Million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to partner with Texas A&M University-Central Texas, Taylor ISD, and other school districts to prepare more Hispanic and low-income students for careers in high paying, high-demand, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), including Health Science Programs.

The Austin metropolitan area is the sixth most concentrated STEM occupational area in the United States. According to the Austin Chamber of Commerce, there are now over 119,000 STEM related jobs in the Austin area. The Texas Workforce Commission shows a similar pattern with 60% of current in-demand jobs in the Temple area being STEM related jobs.

Jessica is a student at Temple College working towards an associate's degree in chemistry. She plans on transferring to Tarleton in the fall. She has experience in general chemistry 1 & 2 and organic chemistry 1.

Cynthia Martinez

Math Tutor

Cynthia has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Angelo State University and a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from The University of Texas at Austin, post-grad work at Tarleton State University, St. Thomas University. Cynthia spent 13 years teaching high school mathematics in Temple ISD, Waco ISD, and Belton ISD and over 20 years teaching college level mathematics at Temple College.

Computer Science Tutor

Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and is currently pursuing a Master's in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. He has certifications in CompTIA Project+, Axelos ITIL 4, CIW SDA, Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer, JavaFX, Certified Ethical Hacker, and Certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator. Experience in many programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, CSS, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, AIXML, and SQL. Other areas of experience include Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, and Data Prediction Models.
