Temple College Orchestra Spring 2026 concert

Temple College and Texas A&M University - Central Texas are proud to present the Temple College Orchestra, which will perform its Spring 2026 concert on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center.

This special concert will feature the talented musicians from the Harker Heights High School Orchestra, who will be sitting alongside the TCO for a performance of Johannes Brahms’ spirited Hungarian Dance No. 5 and Pietro Mascagni’s lush Intermezzo from his opera, Cavalleria rusticana. To round out the program, the TCO will present Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, a massive nineteenth-century orchestral masterwork that continues to thrill audiences with its dramatic story and kaleidoscopic range of sounds. The piece will feature a multitude of student soloists, notably members of TC and TAMUCT’s violin studios who will be playing the dazzling solos meant to represent the character Scheherazade herself.

The Temple College Orchestra is the premier full orchestral ensemble at Temple College and Texas A&M University - Central Texas. This unique ensemble brings together music majors and non-music majors from both institutions, alongside talented high school students as well as professional musicians from across Central Texas. Those interested in auditioning for the ensemble should contact Dr. Alexander Corbett, Director of Orchestral Studies, at alexander.corbett@templecollege.edu.
