Temple College and A&M-Central Texas Students to Perform Joint Symphonic Concert April 17

Music students from Temple College and Texas A&M University–Central Texas will present a joint symphonic concert Thursday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center. The performance will be conducted by Glen Brumbach, Ph.D., assistant professor of music.

The symphonic band—composed of students and community musicians—selected the evening’s repertoire, which includes works by Percy Grainger, John Williams and John Philip Sousa. The concert will showcase the skills of students from both institutions, including those in the shared undergraduate music program.

“The Temple community has always been blessed with a close community and an even closer group of people who love and appreciate the value of music,” Brumbach said. “For our community to have the best of both [experienced and emerging musicians] is inspiring, and we call upon our friends and neighbors to come out and support the performers that evening.”
