Temple College Celebrates Five Years of Nursing Excellence

Temple, TX — Temple College proudly celebrates a milestone in sustained academic excellence as its Nursing Department marks five consecutive years of outstanding performance on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and workforce readiness, Temple College Vocational Nursing (VN) students have achieved a 100% first-time NCLEX pass rate for the past two years, while Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) graduates have surpassed state and national averages for five consecutive years.
According to data published by the Texas Board of Nursing, Temple College continues to outperform state and national benchmarks. These results reflect the dedication of its students, the professional commitment of its faculty, and the support from its employer and community partners:
- Vocational Nursing (LVN): Temple College – 100% | Texas – 91.89% | U.S. – 86.59%
- Registered Nursing (RN): Temple College – 91.86% | Texas – 88.63% | U.S. – 86.71%
“These results really show how hard our students have worked and how dedicated our faculty is to providing top‑tier nursing education,” said Tracey Cooper, Dean, Health Professions II. “We’re also incredibly thankful for our healthcare partners and community supporters — they play a huge part in helping our students get ready for real‑world success,” she added.
Temple College’s Nursing Department offers a comprehensive pathway into the high-demand healthcare field through its Vocational Nursing Certificate and Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) programs. The ADN program offers both a traditional two-year track and an Advanced Placement (bridging) track, leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree. The ADN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and both the ADN and the VN programs are approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
With healthcare careers in high demand across the region and the nation, Temple College graduates are well-positioned for success. The College is proud to report that nursing graduates secure jobs upon program completion, entering a workforce with strong demand in a profession that offers competitive salaries.
With the opening of the new Health Professions Building, Temple College expects to enroll more than 260 nursing students in Fall 2026. The building will support this growth by providing expanded classroom space and a state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Center to enhance hands-on learning and expand program capacity.
