Temple College Hosts Workforce Preview Day at Taylor Center Oct. 5

Temple College is hosting its Workforce Preview Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its Taylor Center, 516 N. Main St.

The Workforce Preview Day will offer a variety of hands-on experiences, class registration, a hot dog lunch, Kids Zone, public tours of the Taylor Center, voter registration, demonstrations of Temple College workforce degree and certificate programs, and more!

Programs and organizations that will be on hand include:

  • Allied Health and EMT programs

  • Electromechanical Engineering and CADD programs

  • Semiconductor pathways

  • V/R and Robots with SkillsUSA

  • EKG and Polysomnography (Sleep Tech)

  • Legacy Early College High School student organizations

  • Temple College’s Circle of Support

  • Rural Capital Workforce Solutions

  • Temple College’s Adult Education & Literacy

  • Impact Counseling

  • Fine Arts, Government and History programs

A free hot dog lunch will be available (first come, first served) and a Kids Zone will feature a bounce house, face painting and other kids’ activities.

“We’re excited to engage with our neighbors and showcase all of the opportunities, career resources, academic and workforce programs we have to offer at the Temple College Taylor Center,” said Eric Eckert, Temple College’s Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Outreach. “We invite everyone to stop by, have fun and learn more about the educational and career pathways that we offer at Temple College.”

The Temple College Taylor Center opened in the fall of 1997 and has served thousands of students from throughout the region for more than 25 years. Located in the city’s historic downtown area, the Taylor Center serves the increasing educational and training needs of students ranging a variety of ages – from high school students wanting to take dual-credit courses to adult students seeking workforce certifications or associate degrees.

In 2007, Temple College partnered with Taylor ISD to begin the Legacy Early College High School. This strong partnership continues today and Temple College has expanded offerings to include academic and workforce opportunities to meet the changing demands of the region.
