The opera workshop classes of Temple College and Texas A&M University-Central Texas will present “Figaro’s Marriage,” an abridged version of Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” on Nov. 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jackson-Graeter Backstage Theatre at the Mary Alice Marshall Performing Arts Center on the Temple College campus.
This condensed, immersive adaptation features all the iconic Mozart melodies and the comedic antics of Figaro as he navigates numerous obstacles to marry his beloved Susanna — all in half the time of the original opera.
The cast includes 11 singers, ranging from freshmen to seniors, hailing from Temple, Belton, Killeen, and Austin. The opera will be performed in English, with select arias sung in the original Italian.
The production is conceived and directed by Teri Johnson and music directed by David Perez-Guerra.
Tickets are $5, and admission is free for students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased online at CentralTexasTickets.com.
