The Temple College Foundation announced that it awarded a record number of scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This fall, the Foundation awarded 427 students scholarships totaling $460,255. Comparatively, the Foundation awarded 389 scholarships totaling $372,350 in 2024.
“This is a wonderful milestone to celebrate. We are so thankful for the incredible individuals, foundations and organizations who believe in our students and invest in their success,” said Dana Riegel, Executive Director of the Temple College Foundation. “For many of our students, these scholarships are truly life-changing. They make it possible for students to take the next step in their education – an opportunity that might not have been possible otherwise.”
The Temple College Foundation, established in 1982, serves as a bridge between the College and its service-area communities. The Foundation creates opportunities, like the biennial Kentucky Derby and the annual Johnson Brothers Golf Tournament, that support the growth of Temple College, with the primary goal of providing student scholarships.
This year, the Kentucky Derby fundraiser in May raised $128,333. The Johnson Brothers Golf Tournament, hosted in late October, raised $84,409.
“Thanks to generous sponsors and supporters whose dedication made this year’s Kentucky Derby fundraiser and Johnson Brothers Golf Tournament such remarkable successes,” said Dr. Lorenzo Reyes, Vice President of Resource Development and External Relations. “These scholarships continue to open doors and create new opportunities for Temple College students.”
