Temple College Earns Regional Workforce Excellence Award

As Temple College celebrates 100 years of serving Central Texas, the college has earned the 2026 Phoenix Award for Excellence in Workforce Preparation, recognizing its role in connecting education, industry, and career opportunities across the region.

Presented by Workforce Central Texas at its 38th Annual Phoenix Awards Luncheon on October 29 at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, the award honors Temple College’s commitment to preparing a skilled workforce through innovative training and strong employer partnerships.

“Receiving this award during our centennial year is especially meaningful,” said Dr. Christy Ponce, Temple College President. “It recognizes the extraordinary work of our Temple College team and the partnerships that transform lives through education while strengthening our regional workforce.”

“Congratulations to Workforce Central Texas on 30 years of strengthening our communities,” said DeDe Griffith, Temple College Vice President of Workforce Development. “Together, we are connecting education, employers, and resources to create career opportunities and economic mobility for Central Texans.”
