Time Commitment: 4 weeks for weekday classes or 10 weeks for weekend classes
Schedule: Weekday: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm
Weekend: Saturday to Sunday 7:00am - 6:00pm

Get on the road to a new career by earning your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Temple College has partnered with ATDS Truck Driving School to offer CDL training. The program includes 210 hours of instruction − 70 hours in the classroom and 140 hours on the road. The program is open to those who are over 21 years of age and have a good driving record.

Certification/Licensure: Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take your Class A CDL exam and will receive a diploma from ATDS along with a defensive driving certificate.

Registration Steps
1. Complete a WCE Short Form

Complete the Workforce & Continuing Education Short Form.

2. Contact WCE
Send an email to wce@templecollege.edu with your preferred start date. From there, we will register you for the program.
3. VA Students - Contact our VA Coordinator/Technician
Contact Magen McCauley at 254-298-8310 or magen.mccauley@templecollege.edu. Please refer to the VA Student Checklist for further requirements.
4. Make a Payment/Secure Funding

The tuition must be paid in full (if paying out-of-pocket) within 24 hours after registration to remain enrolled in the CDL program. Please let us know if you are using a scholarship, loan, or grant. Non-payment will result in being dropped from the program.

Tuition Waiver

The Texas State College Tuition Waiver program exempts or waives payment of tuition and fees at state-supported colleges or universities for foster youth currently or formerly in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and for those adopted from DFPS.
